NAPIER: Despite valiant half-centuries by Devon Conway and Glenn Phillips at the McClean Park, here on Tuesday, India bowled out New Zealand for 160 in the rain-delayed third and final T20I thanks to sensational bowling performances by Mohammed Siraj (4/17) and Arshdeep Singh (4/37) After choosing to bat first after winning the toss, New Zealand lost Mark Chapman and Finn Allen (3) in the powerplay. After 5.2 overs, they were 44-2, but Conway (59 off 49) and Phillips (54 off 33) put together a key 86-run third-wicket partnership to resurrect the Black Caps' innings. India got their Ist breakthrough when Arshdeep had Finn Allen trapped in front of the wicket with a full delivery that swung in from around the middle. Allen felt about a review before deciding to walk back as the ball was clearly going to hit the stumps. Veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a tight 3rd over before Conway decided to take on left-arm seamer Arshdeep, carting him through mid-wicket for a four before lofting the bowler over extra cover for a 6. The Kiwis, however, lost wicket quickly when Phillips was out in the 16th over, and they were eventually dismissed for 160 runs in 19.4 overs. In 19.4 overs, New Zealand was all out for 160 runs against India (Devon Conway scored 59 and Glenn Phillips had 54; Mohammed Siraj had 4/17 and Arshdeep Singh took 4/37).
