TikTok is slowly turning into a very controversial social media app, Tiktok has been banned in India. Recently, a new report has come to light that the platform is also collecting your personal data through the app keyboard. Reports say that the in-app keyboard on popular social media platforms is capable of stealing data based on the data being typed. Major social media apps like TikTok, Facebook and Instagram have the ability to use JavaScript to grab your credit card data, address, passwords and more without your approval on iOS reports report. The report states that these social media apps (including Facebook Messenger) can track your keystrokes if you use the in-app keyboard. Notably, out of all these social media applications, one company that doesn't give users the option to use their default QWERTY keyboard is TikTok. In other words, you are basically stuck with personal data theft in the app keyboard. This is also the reason why the brand came under another US presidential administration which was concerned about national security. In its defence, TikTok took to Twitter to share a tweet and said ' The findings of the report regarding TikTok are false and misleading. Contrary to its claims, we do not collect keystrokes or text input through this code, which is also identified to be used solely for debugging, troubleshooting and performance monitoring. However, different reports have also claimed that whose in-app browser is also very dangerous as the company can basically track every keystroke on third-party websites through this browser.
