Born on November 22, 1948 Maharashtra Nirmala Nagpal Saroj Khan started carrer as a background dancer in the 1950s. She has choreographed more than 2000 songs in her career of more than 40 years. Saroj has given his name to the Devdas song "Dola Ray Dola", all songs of 'Shringaram' and National Award for 'Jab We Met', 'Ye Ishq Haay'. He has been awarded the Filmfare Award for the film 'Guru', 'Devdas', 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Khalnayak', 'Beta', 'Salab', 'Trick' and 'Tejaab'. Not only that, in 2002, he has also received an Best Choreography Award for Outstanding cherography in Laagan.
