Don't hurt 'innocent Birds' on this Makar Sankranti !

On 14 January, India will celebrated the kite Festival- Makar Sankranti as sun enters in the Zodiac sign of Capricorn (Makar). The season of kite flying, til laddus and chikks is considered as one of the great festival of India. This day is also believed to be the arrival of the spring in the country.

Kite flying in the Makar Sakranti has become a regional as well as mandatory event.

These kites threads are made of very strong string which are created with the usage of glass powder, so that it can easily cut the another thread. It is commonly known as Manjha.

While, operating your own kite with the string, sometime you might have cut your finger too.

Well, while flying it in the sky, have you ever thought about the innocent birds that get injured when they come in contact with these cutting edge threads??

 

How many of you have hurt them and then tried to heal their wounds?? The number is very few.

Gujarat, the state where maximum number of kites are flown on this day, An animal welfare, NGO Jivdaya Charitable Trust (JCT) attended 2,394 injured birds out of which 490 died. They suffer major injuries, deep cuts, wings cut into half all because of the Manjha.  

To decrease the casuality, we all need to take care that while flying it, we don't hurt any bird and in case, if we do we make effort to cure them.
