Patna: The popular Mahavir temple located in Bihar's capital Patna is ahead of many big religious places in the country in terms of offerings. The Mahavir Temple is richer than the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The annual income of Patna's Mahavir Temple has gone up to Rs 36 crore, while the annual income of Kashi Vishwanath is only Rs 4 to 5 crore. On Friday, Acharya Kishore Kunal, secretary of the Mahavir Sthan Trust Committee, said that the daily income of the Mahavir temple has crossed Rs 10 lakh. Its income had decreased due to the corona virus. However, after the end of the restrictions related to Corona, it has increased rapidly. He said that before getting the management of Mahavir Mandir in the year 1987, its maximum income was 11 thousand rupees annually. Income has increased due to financial discipline and better management. The income of the temple comes from the amount of offerings, ritual fees, savings of Naivedyam and voluntary donations. Apart from this, sales centers also earn from savings and bank interest. The Mahavir Mandir of Patna is one of the most prominent temples of Lord Bajrangbali in the country. Everyday thousands of devotees from all over the country come here to have darshan of Bajrangbali. This temple was declared public in 1948. Thereafter, it was reconstructed again between 1983 and 85. The Mahavir temple houses two paired idols of Lord Bajrangbali together. Devotees believe that all sorrows go away just by visiting here.
