KANPUR: Three people have been arrested in Kanpur's Kotdwar neighbourhood in connection with an attack on a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader. Over the hijab row, members of a certain group assaulted the pracharak and a Sangh member. In this case, SP Kanpur (Outer) Ajit Kumar had requested that the Ghatampur police move quickly and take stern action against the offenders. Inspector Ram Bahadur Pal expressed his views as follows: "On Tuesday, three designated suspects, Abrar Ahmed, Sameer Kanda, and Shahabuddin, were apprehended and sentenced to prison. They've been charged under relevant sections of the IPC, including section 307 (attempt to murder). Efforts are being made to apprehend two more suspects who are on the run." Meanwhile, workers from the VHP and Bajrang Dal staged a protest in Ghatampur town on Tuesday in response to the assault on the RSS pracharak. They then proceeded to the SDM's office, where they handed over a memorandum addressed to the President, demanding that the perpetrators be held accountable.
