Negligence in many hospitals of Phagwara, wrong blood transfusion worsened youth's condition

Chandigarh: Due to increasing crime and carelessness day by day everyone is upset, while recently something similar has been heard in the blood bank of Civil Hospital Phagwara. To give blood to a young man of different blood groups and taking serious notice on the negligence of transfusion of infected blood to the patients. The CM of Punjab conducted a detailed investigation into the incident and immediately inspected all the blood banks of the state. Orders are issued. This order has been issued keeping in mind the media reports of two blood transfused units of HCV and HBsAg in Phagwara to two patients. According to the official spokesperson, after this incident, the blood bank of Phagwara has been closed, along with 2 Dr. has also been suspended.

According to the information received, expressing serious concern on this matter, the Health Department was instructed to get all blood banks examined immediately so that the correct standards of blood management can be ensured. He said that no relaxation will be tolerated in this regard. On the instructions of the CM, all the blood banks of Kapurthala district will be inspected by the District Blood Transfusion Committee headed by civil surgeons within the next 3 days.

Education Department banned holidays, canceled all tour programs

He further said that in addition to other investigative procedures, the Food and Drug Administration, Punjab Blood and Transfusion Committee inspected all government blood banks in the next 15 days and all private blood banks by 31 March. It has also been observed that the District Transfusion Committees are not inspecting the blood bank from time to time.
