This order has been issued keeping in mind the media reports of two blood transfused units of HCV and HBsAg in Phagwara to two patients. On the instructions of the CM, all the blood banks of Kapurthala district will be inspected by the District Blood Transfusion Committee headed by civil surgeons within the next 3 days.

He further said that in addition to other investigative procedures, the Food and Drug Administration, Punjab Blood and Transfusion Committee inspected all government blood banks in the next 15 days and all private blood banks by 31 March.
