Thrill, suspense, excitement of Bangladesh Premier League season 5 kick-off today.

BPL season 5 will start on Saturday. Hosts Sylhet Sixers will take on Dhaka Dynamites while Rajshahi Kings will play and Rangpur Riders in the second match of the day. Sylhet will host the opening form of the tournament, i.e the first eight games. The fifth edition will witness a total of 46 matches to be played between seven franchises. The excitement in the city was palpable with a large pool of international cricketers descending upon it. The massive interest in the tournament was on display with a few people getting injured while queuing up to obtain tickets for the first few games. Cops had to resort to disciplinary action which led to a lot of injuries to the fans.

Sylhet Sixers comprises of some of the best local and international cricketers namely Babar Azam, Usman Khan, Andre Fletcher and Upul Tharanga while Dhaka Dynamites comprising of Shakib Al Hasan, Shahid Afridi, Kumar Sangakkara, Shane Watson and Evin Lewis on their side, will be looking to win their first match.

Rajshahi Kings will be raring to go with Mushfiqur Rahim, Lendl Simmons, Darren Sammy, Mohammad Sami, Usama Mir, Luke Wright and James Franklin in their side whereas Rangpur Riders comprising of Mashrafe Mortaza, Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum, Ravi Bopara, Thisara Perera, Kusal Perera, Samuel Badree, will also be looking to win their first match of tournament. The match between Sixers and Dynamites will be played at 01.00 pm while the fixture between Kings and Riders is at 06.00 pm.
