Government to introduce important OBC bill in Lok Sabha today

New Delhi: The Central government is scheduled to introduce an important bill in the Lok Sabha today i.e. The Constitution Amendment Bill empowering states to prepare a list of OBC communities will be introduced in the Lok Sabha today. It was recently sealed by the Union Cabinet. Article 342 A (3) will be introduced through the 127th Constitutional Amendment Bill, through which state governments will have the right to prepare a list of OBC communities according to their own accord.

States will not have to depend on the Centre for the same after the revised bill is passed. It may be recalled that the Constitution Amendment Bill was recently sealed by the Union Cabinet led by PM Narendra Modi. After the bill is passed in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, it will be given the shape of a law. The Constitution Amendment Bill is being brought by the Central Government because the Supreme Court made a comment in May. It said that only the Central Government has the right to prepare a list related to the OBC community.

After objections were raised by the Central and State Governments, the Central Government now wants to bring the Constitution Amendment Bill and make it legal. Tell us that assembly elections are scheduled to be held in Uttar Pradesh next year, where the OBC community is considered to have a major influence. The Centre's decision is also being seen as a tool for the OBC community. Recently, in reserved medical education seats, the Centre had reserved seats for the OBC community and the economically backward.
