Tragic Bus Accident in Maharashtra's Gondia District Claims Nine Lives, 25 Injured

A fatal bus accident in Maharashtra's Gondia district on Friday, November 29, 2024, resulted in the deaths of at least nine people and left 25 others injured. The incident occurred when a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus overturned while trying to overtake another vehicle.

The MSRTC bus, named 'Shiv Shahi,' was traveling from Bhandara to Gondia with 36 passengers on board. The accident took place around 12:30 PM near Khajri village, in the Sadakarjuni taluka of Gondia district. As the bus attempted to pass another vehicle, it flipped over at Davva village, causing the tragic loss of life and injuries.

Emergency services responded quickly, with local authorities, ambulances, police vans, and cranes deployed to the scene. The efforts to clear the wreckage and remove the overturned bus are currently underway.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, and the injured passengers have been rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. The tragic event has left the community in shock, with a large crowd gathering at the accident site.
