Tragic Incident in Ujjain: Man Allegedly Kills Family After Argument Over Pet Dog

Ujjain: In a deeply distressing incident, a 45-year-old man reportedly took the lives of his wife and two children before ending his own life in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The tragedy unfolded on Sunday morning in their residence located in the Badnagar area, about 50 km away from the district's main center.

According to authorities, the turmoil began around 1 am when the man, Dilip Pawar, began to physically harm the family's pet dog. His wife Ganga (40), along with their son Yogendra (14) and daughter Neha (17), intervened, urging him to stop. However, this plea triggered a violent outburst from Pawar, who allegedly used a sword to take the lives of his wife and children.

The couple's two other children managed to escape the house for safety. Later, in a devastating turn of events, the accused is believed to have taken his own life by stabbing himself with a sharp-edged weapon. Initial investigations reveal that Pawar was known to consume alcohol heavily. However, it remains uncertain whether he was under the influence at the time of the incident. The authorities are actively probing the case to determine further details.

Reports suggest that Pawar had been unemployed for a few months and had recently sold his freight vehicle, which he had used for his livelihood. The authorities were informed of the tragedy around 5 am, prompting them to swiftly respond. The bodies were sent for postmortem examination, and a team from the forensic science laboratory also arrived at the scene to assist with the investigation.
