4 died in a car-bus collision on Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway

Mumbai: A major road accident took place on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway in Maharashtra at around 4.4 am today. Four people died in the collision between the car and the luxury bus. The incident took place near Mahalaxmi temple in the Dahanu area of the Palghar district. The driver of a speeding car going from Gujarat to Mumbai lost control and the car rammed into a luxury bus coming in the opposite direction.

According to the police, the four passengers in the car are residents of Bardoli in Gujarat. The dead include three men and a woman. Three injured, including the driver of the luxury bus, are undergoing treatment at the Kasav sub-district hospital. Three persons were injured in the accident that took place around 4 am near Mahalaxmi bridge on the highway, an official of Kasa police station said.

The four occupants of the car were on their way to Mumbai from Gujarat when their vehicle collided with a bus, the official said. Four persons, including a woman, died on the spot, he said. The bodies have been sent to a government hospital for post-mortem. Three people injured in the accident are undergoing treatment at a hospital, police said.
