Too lazy to cook a meal on weekends? Chana Dal Pulao is here to your rescue people. Chana Dal Pulao is an easy-to-make and extremely delicious one-meal recipe. Must try -Ingredients of Chana Dal Pulao 2 cup soaked basmati rice 2 medium finely chopped onion 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste 1/4 teaspoon powdered turmeric 1/4 cup virgin olive oil 4 clove 1 piece cinnamon stick 100 gm soaked chana dal 2 sliced & slit green chilli 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste salt as required 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 4 green cardamom 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida -How to make Chana Dal Pulao Step 1 Start by heating oil in a thick bottomed vessel, add cumin seeds, cloves, cardamoms, cinnamon stick and asafoetida. Saute till the mixture crackles and become aromatic. Ensure not to burn the spices. Step 2 Now add green chillies and chopped onions, saute until onions are golden in colour. Then, add ginger-garlic paste and saute for 2 more minutes. Mix the ingredients well. Step 3 Now, add soaked chana dal, turmeric powder and some salt. Fry it for few minutes and then add little water, cover with a lid and cook. Stir occasionally to avoid burning. Step 4 When chana dal is almost cooked and water from pan is evaporated, add soaked rice and fry for 2 minutes. Then add remaining water of rice and more water. Step 5 Sprinkle salt and cook over a high flame, when it starts looking little dry on top, lower the flame and cover with lid. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Step 6 Flip it with fork or knife to make fluffy pulao. Let it sit for 5 minutes covered, then open the lid and mix with light hand gently and serve warm with raita and mint chutney.
