Peshawar [Pakistan], July 11 (NT): According to ANI reports The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the deadly suicide attack in Peshawar. This suicide bomber attack claimed 14 lives. As per the Pakistani news reporters, a shared tweet which read, "The beginning of revenge," that was stated by TTP (Pakistani Taliban) presenter Mohammad Khurasani. “The beginning of revenge,” #TTP (Pakistani Taliban) spokesman Mohammad Khurasani claims responsibility for last night’s sucicide attack at an #ANP corner meeting in #Peshawar that left 13 dead and 35 injured. Via @SaleemMehsu On the other hand Iftikar Firdous, Bureau Head for The Express Tribune, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wrote on Twitter, "The TTP's spokesperson calls the suicide attack a 'revenge for the previous government of ANP' while claiming credit for the attack. Identifies the suicide bomber as Mujahid Abdul Karim. #Peshawar" The bombing attacked an election rally of the Awami National Party (ANP), killing Haroon Bilour, a head of the party. On a related note Bilour was the ANP's candidate for a provincial seat (PK-78) in the general elections which will be slated on July 25. Worth mention here The ANP was the main target of Taliban attacks in the 2013 Pakistan general elections. (NT)
