IPL 2018: Twitter reacts on Chris Gayle come-back innings

On Sunday, Chris Gayle started his first game at KXIP and showed why the Lions decided to smash huge amount of money for him at the auction. The West Indian started the game slowly and tried to get the idea of the pitch during the first few deliveries. But he didn't let his fans wait for long before he started his brutal attacks. He scored 63 runs in just 33 balls and smashed the ball out of the fence four times. Chris Gayle blasts 63 runs innings against Chennai Super Kings including 7 fours and 4 huge sixes.

On Sunday, Kings XI Punjab handed Chennai Super Kings their first defeat of the season, with Chris Gayle turning the spotlight on with an exuberant 22-ball fifty in first-ever game for Punjab, and incidentally his first game in this IPL season.

But it was MS Dhoni who stole the thunder, fighting through back pain to bludgeon 79 runs off 44 balls that took CSK close but fell 4 runs short of parrying them over the line.

There was a doubt about Chris Gayle's form before the tournament with critics tipping him to struggle during this season. But the veteran proved everyone wrong and showed that there is still a lot left in him. Chris Gayle gave KXIP a perfect start to the game and made them the favorites to win the game. The Mohali-based side won one out of their opening two games and will be looking forward to clinching their maiden IPL title this season.
