Twitter has launched its Twitter Lite application and along with that, the company has announced the partnership with Vodafone. This version of the Twitter will be more compatible to run in the less data speed. This partnership is proceeded by keeping the internet connection issue in mind. Maya Hari, Managing Director Asia Pacific at Twitter said, "India is instrumental to the growth of Twitter. It is one of the largest growth engines in the world. In India, over 200 million users are on prepaid. There is incredible headroom for the growth of digital India, and Twitter in particular." Arvinder Gujral, Senior Director of Business Development atTwitter said while talking about the partnership, "Twitter Lite looks at emerging markets. The three main pillars on which it resides, which are network conditions, the kind of device being used and how affordable this access is to a user. Twitter Lite wants to address all these questions."
