UAE’s national carrier Emirates is all set to fly with over 175 tonnes of relief material to Kerala, which is facing the deadliest flood in almost 100 years. “Emirates SkyCargo will carry flood relief cargo of over 175 tonnes to Kerala, India, joining the UAE community in their support of the people of Kerala,” the airlines stated in a released statement. Worth mention here according to the reports of the leading news agency ANI, Emirates SkyCargo will carry flood relief cargo of over 175 tons to Thiruvananthapuram in more than a dozen flights. It'll transport the relief goods donated by various UAE-based businesses and organisations, including lifesaving boats, blankets and dry food items. The record floods due to nonstop rain have created the disaster in the state causing vast misery and damage. As per the official records, since August 8, over 231 people have died and more than 10 lakh have been displaced. The airline said that the relief goods have been donated by various UAE-based businesses and organisations, to Thiruvananthapuram. Worth mention here the nearest online Emirates station to the areas most affected by the flood. “The goods, including lifesaving boats, blankets and dry food items, will be handed over to the local flood relief and aid organisations for distribution,” The statement further said.
