Ujjain: Main accused in liquor case arrested, death toll rises to 12

Ujjain: In Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, the number of people allegedly killed by poisonous liquor is increasing. By late Thursday evening, the death toll has risen to 12. On Thursday evening, Ujjain police arrested the main accused in this case. The accused Yunus was caught while he was waiting for a ride in Uttar Pradesh.

Police is interrogating Yunus, the main accused. It is noteworthy that seven workers died on Wednesday morning. The Shivraj government of the state had ordered a high-level inquiry into the matter. CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan had announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case. CM Shivraj had said that the culprits will not be spared at all.

So far, the police station in-charge of the area has been suspended for negligence in this case. Currently, two other accused in this case, Gabbar and Alexander, are absconding. Police have also announced a reward of Rs 10 thousand for the arrest of the absconding accused. Apart from this, action has also been taken against the police accused under the National Security Act (NSA).
