Union Minister Hardeep S Puri’s reply to ex-IAS officers over Central Vista goes viral

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court had yesterday dismissed a petition seeking a stay on the Central Vista. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has since lashed out at those opposing it. Meanwhile, he revealed that a group of 60 retired bureaucrats had written a letter opposing the project claiming that the creation of a new Parliament was the result of superstition. The Union Minister has called these former bureaucrats educated fools.

The former bureaucrats had written an open letter to PM Narendra Modi against the projects. Reading the letter in public, Puri said, "It is interesting that 60 of our educated fools have said that if reports are to be believed, a new Parliament House is being constructed because of superstition, because the old building is inauspicious. "Puri has said that 'if you have 40 years of experience, will you believe what the reports say?'

The Union Minister then attacked the former bureaucrats who signed the letter and said, "You were a Cabinet Secretary at that time who signed it. Your Government said at that time in 2012 that there is a need for a new Parliament. Now, why are they saying in 2021 that this new Parliament is being formed because there is superstition behind it?" Puri further said, "These educated fools are an insult to the country. I should never sign a letter that says superstition.?
