Union Minister Kishan Reddy writes to CM KCR for this reason

Political turmoil takes place every now and then. Recently, Union minister of state for home affairs G. Kishan Reddy has urged Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to grant land in Hyderabad for the formation of a motivation centre to honour the Telangana liberation movement. In a letter to the Chief Minister on Sunday, Reddy announced that Union tourism minister Prahlad Singh Patel had given a nod to provide financial assistance in setting up the centre.

The letter stated, ‘I met the Union tourism minister recently and explained the people’s struggle to liberate Hyderabad region from the clutches of the tyrannical rule of the Nizam and his private army of Razakars and how the people collectively ensured its merger with the Indian Union.’ Kishan Reddy further added, “When India celebrated independence on August 15, 1947, the people of Telangana state were still languishing under Nizam rule, hounded by the Razakars. Their spirited and sustained struggle for over 13 months after Indian independence led to police action, initiated by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and the liberation of the region.”

'The bravery and determination shown by the people of Telangana state against the draconian Nizam is one of the consequential episodes in the history of Indian freedom struggle,' said Reddy. The movement was commenced by leaders from different walks of life, including P.V. Narasimha Rao, Marri Chenna Reddy, Swami Ramanand Tirtha, Doddi Komaraiah, Chakali Ilamma, Komaram Bheem, Vademataram Ramachandra Rao Narayan Rao Pawar and others.
