Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav Announces Opening of Ten New AYUSH Institutes

New Delhi: Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Prataprao Jadhav announced on Friday the establishment of ten new AYUSH institutes over the next five years. The announcement was made during his visit to the All India Institute of Ayurveda, where he highlighted the initiative to bring the benefits of traditional medicine in line with the allopathic system.

During his visit, Jadhav inspected the entire campus, reviewed the facilities, and assessed the treatment provided to patients. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to advancing Ayurveda, emphasizing that efforts are being made to make Ayurveda accessible to every household, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision. Jadhav stated, “Ayurveda and our traditional medical systems faced significant challenges during the colonial period and foreign invasions. However, since 2014, under the leadership of the Modi government, there has been a transformative change. The global perception of Yoga and Ayurveda has improved, leading to increased public acceptance.”

Speaking to journalists, Jadhav mentioned that President Droupadi Murmu had expressed interest in visiting the institute, prompting his review of the institute’s preparations. On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Nesri, Director of the Institute, thanked the Minister for his role in promoting Ayurveda. She noted that the Minister’s guidance and support are vital for advancing Ayurveda and establishing its prominence on the global stage.

Jadhav also inaugurated an auditorium built in memory of late Medical Superintendent Sanjay Gupta, who passed away during the Covid pandemic. Additionally, he released the brochure for the upcoming International Conference AROHA-2024, scheduled to be held from October 17 to 19. The event was attended by Satyajit Paul, Deputy Director General of the IC Department of AYUSH, and other senior officials from the Ministry.
