LUCKNOW: Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath was conferred with Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar Award on Friday by former president of India Ram Nath Kovind at Shri Shanmukhananda Auditorium in Mumbai. Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council Member Dr. Lalji Prasad Nirmal received the prestigious award on behalf of UP CM Yogi Adityanath . Speaking as the keynote speaker at a Budhanjali Research Foundation event, Ram Nath Kovind praised Yogi Adityanath for his work in eradicating fear from the state of Uttar Pradesh. He accomplished this by taking a firm stance against the mafia and criminal elements. Addressing on the occasion, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale called Yogi Adityanath a friend whose name is enough to send shivers down the spine of mafias. Lalji Prasad Nirmal appareciated Yogi Adityanath’s initiative to ensure that Dr. Ambedkar’s photograph is installed in government departments of the state. He said that by establishing the Dr. Ambedkar Memorial and Cultural Centre in Lucknow, the chief minister had realised Savita Ambedkar's ambitions. Besides, he has become the Messiah of the downtrodden today. "We are proud to present Yogi Adityanath with the Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar Award," said Kailash Masoom, president of the Budhanjali Foundation and programme organiser. "The Yogi Government is working keeping in mind the interests of the Dalits, the backward, and the underprivileged, taking everyone along." On this occasion, the 13th Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar Award was given to cinema actors Prem Chopra, Udit Narayan, and Rajpal Yadav as well as dignitaries from various parts of the nation.
