Lucknow: There is great good news for the general public of Uttar Pradesh. In fact, the people here are now going to get another expressway. In fact, the Environment Ministry has given its approval for the construction of the Ganga Expressway in UP. It is said that after this approval, tendering process will be done and then construction work will start. Under the information received, the expressway will be 594 km long and fully entry controlled. It will start from Bijoli village in Meerut on Meerut-Bulandshahr route (NH-334) and end near Judapur Dandu village on Prayagraj bypass (NH-19). Environment clearance (EC) has been issued by the Secretary, State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority on 20th November 2021 for the construction of Ganga Expressway, an ambitious project of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, under the Notification-2006 of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (Government of India), environment clearance is required before the construction of the project. It is said that approval has been obtained for the construction of the Ganga Expressway under the notification. According to reports, the tendering process for Ganga Expressway has already been initiated. It is said that the construction work of the expressway will be taken up as soon as the tender is finalized. Under the information received, the total estimated cost of this expressway project is Rs 36230 crore. PPP for the development of this project. Tenders are invited on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) pattern on (Toll) mode. This expressway will pass through 12 districts of Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. The expressway is said to be 6 lanes which will be increased to 8 lanes later. That land acquisition for this expressway has already been started and about 94 per cent of the land has been acquired so far.
