Police seize more than 2500 turtles taken for smuggling

The Etawah police have detained five members of the endogenous gang in the tortoise trafficking case. 2583 turtles, 30 kg turtle calpi, 01 truck, 01 Omni van and illegal ammunition have also been seized from them. The total estimated value of the caught turtles is stated to be one crore rupees. SSP Etawah Akash Tomar has launched a massive campaign to curb crime, accused and smuggling of banned items in the city during which 5 Etawah police have detained turtle traffickers. From whom 2583 turtles have been seized. These turtles were loaded into trucks and taken for smuggling.

Under this special campaign, all the jurisdictions and all the police in-charge were going out in the area and checking intensively throughout the district. Meanwhile, the police station Saifai police received a complaint that some unidentified accused are preparing to go towards Jaswantnagar by loading a large number of illegal turtles in a truck on behalf of Karhal. Taking quick action on the basis of the informant's Tahrir, the police team started checking intensively on the route 'Dumila border' from Karhal towards Jaswantnagar in which all the vehicles coming from Karhal were being checked intensively.

Meanwhile, late in the night, the police team was seen coming together with a truck and Maruti van on behalf of Karhal, which the police team tried to stop by showing the flashlight. After which the truck driver stopped the truck and started running. Taking advantage of the darkness of the night, the driver managed to escape from the opportunity.
