UPSC postponed civil services prelims 2020, new dates to be announced after May 20

New Delhi: Taking a major decision, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has postponed the Civil Services Prelims 2020 (UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2020). While giving information about this, the UPSC has said that the new dates for these exams will be announced after May 20.

It is noteworthy that UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2020 exam was scheduled on 31 May. The UPSC has taken this decision keeping in view the current status of corona virus infection and the lockdown being implemented across the country till May 17. UPSC has given information in this regard on its official website www.upsc.gov.in. The statement released by the UPSC said that no decision has been taken at present regarding the new dates for the Civil Services 2020 Prelims Exam. The UPSC has decided to stay on the new dates. A decision will be taken on May 20.

In the high level meeting of UPSC regarding the Civil Services 2020 Prelims examinations, it was revealed that in the present situation, schools and colleges are all closed, there will be a lot of shortage of examination centers. With this, lakhs of candidates are involved in the examinations, in which case the issue of following social distancing will come up. Along with this, rail, bus and traffic services are also closed, how will the candidate reach the examination center. So, in all circumstances, there is no option but to postpone the examination.
