KIEV: The United States ambassador to Kiev Bridget Brink said that the US is considering the prospect of training the Ukrainian military. Brink was cited by the Xinhua news as stating, "I can't divulge the specific amount or the plan, but I can say that I talked about it with officials from the Pentagon." More aid aimed at fortifying Ukraine's positions on the front lines is being sought by Washington, she added. In response to Russia's escalating war, the US government handed Kiev with $4.6 billion in defence assistance, according to the US Embassy in Ukraine on June 15. The mission states that the US provided to Ukraine 26,500 Javelin and other anti-armor systems, 1,400 Stinger anti-aircraft systems, 108 howitzers, and 75,000 sets of body armor and helmets. Oleksii Reznikov, Ukraine's minister of defence, reported on June 23 that the US has given his nation High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS).
