NEW DELHI: Eventbrite, a US-based ticketing, marketing, and experience technology platform, on Monday announced a hiring spree for its development centre in India amid intensifying tech layoffs. This year, it plans to hire 120 highly qualified workers countrywide. The company claimed that the move would strengthen its events marketplace, which in 2022 processed more than 280 million tickets for more than five million live performances in close to 180 nations worldwide. As stated by Vivek Sagi, CTO of Eventbrite, "We intend to supercharge our capabilities by building a hub in India and enabling individuals to work wherever they work best - totally remotely from anywhere in the country, in our office in Hyderabad, or a mix of both.""We provide our India staff with the chance to work on a sizable scale on a global events marketplace platform. I have no doubt that India will be crucial to the company's long-term success and global growth " he said. On April 14, Eventbrite will have a virtual career fair where positions in engineering, data, product management, product design, and programme management will be filled. "It brings me great satisfaction to share that more than 40% of our 2022 global new employees were women because I am a female leader in technology. Building autonomous, empowered teams that own and drive product innovation is our goal "said Sapna Nair, vice president and managing director for India.
