Agra: Notice of 'No Beds' affixed outside, 969 beds found empty

Lucknow: While reports of non-availability of space in hospitals amid the crisis of the corona epidemic have been constantly in the news, a piece of shocking news is emerging from Agra. According to media reports, after a number of complaints, when the DM took a tough stand on covid hospitals, a big truth has emerged about empty beds.

According to the report, after the DM came into action, the details of one hospital each were checked and in just 24 hours it was found that 969 beds were lying vacant in the Covid hospitals. These include 147 ventilators and 247 ICU beds. Some of these hospitals were also reportedly carrying no bed notices. In fact, a few days ago, Agra District Collector Prabhu N Singh had ordered all covid hospitals to make the information of vacant beds public and to charge the admitted patients the treatment expenses prescribed in the order. However, there were reports of many patients wandering for beds. On the same information on Wednesday, the District Collector took action and checked the details of each hospital.

During this period, the DM found 969 vacant beds in covid hospitals, about which no public information was given by the hospitals. The district collector, after checking the records, reprimanded the hospital operators and warned them to register a case. He also asked them to paste notices in respect of the vacant beds in ICU, ventilators, oxygen, and isolation wards within 1 hour by entering the details of the vacant beds in the control room.
