Lucknow: A youth threw stones at the house of a girl student in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow after she refused to marry him, police said on Sunday. According to the report, the name of the accused youth is Arbaaz Khan. On the complaint of the student, the police have registered an FIR of love jihad against the accused youth. However, the accused is still on the run and raids are being conducted in search of him. He will be arrested soon. In the complaint given to the police station, the student has told that the young man Arbaaz Khan was in her college, but she did not know that he belonged to another religion. When she came to know about this, she started distancing herself from Arbaaz, but Arbaaz was pressuring her to marry him. When she refused, Arbaaz threw stones at the house. The student told that Arbaaz is her senior. A little conversation started with him in college itself. When she started distancing herself from him, Arbaaz came to the locality and started harassing her. Whenever she stepped out of the house, Arbaaz would follow her. Once he also created a ruckus in the locality. The student further said that Arbaaz along with his colleagues threw stones at her house on the evening of May 26 to scare her. At present, on the complaint of the victim, the police have registered an FIR at Aliganj police station and are investigating the matter. The police have registered a case under sections 354, 352, 504 and 506 of the IPC. Police say that raids are being conducted in search of the accused. A similar case came to light in November 2022. A young man named Salman had taken the minor Hindu student from Lucknow to Haryana. The family members of the student lodged a complaint in the police station, after which the police started looking for the student. The police traced the student and the accused youth through mobile location. This case was also said to be of love jihad.
