UP police arrested a WhatsApp group admin for spreading rumors over corona

Gautam Budh Nagar: Police have arrested 2 accused who were spreading rumours through social media amid Corona epidemic. These people were forwarding messages on the WhatsApp group promoting communal violence. After which the Badlapur police registered the arrest against the group administrator and the broadcasting accused today. The police have also seized two mobile phones from both.

In fact, Yusuf, a lawyer of Thana Badlapur area, has formed a WhatsApp group named 'Jai Hind'. In which the sub-inspector Sunil Kumar posted at the police station Badlapur and many other officers of the district were also added. On April 2, a WhatsApp group member shared a message and video to spread rumors about Corona and promote communal violence, as well as an appeal to share more. After which the police officers associated with the group immediately took cognizance of the case and ordered action.

The WhatsApp group administrator Yusuf Khan, who was arrested by the police, is a resident of village Sadapur police station, Badlapur. Also, member Feroz Khan son Anwar Khan resident Luharli police station Dadri has also been put in jail. A case has been registered against the accused under Crime No. 98/20 Section 153B Bhadvi and 67 IT Act.
