Uttar Pradesh police arrest Shakib for kidnapping and raping a 15-year-old girl

Meerut: A 15-year-old girl goes missing on May 31, 2020 from the village of Sindhwali under Kankarkheda police station in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. The family of the girl accuses Shakib of kidnapping her. For more than 5 months, no information comes out about the girl. Hindu organizations also pressurized the police to act swiftly and free the kidnapped girl from Shakib's clutches as the case was between the two communities.

Meanwhile, Shakib was arrested by the team of Inspector Tapeshwar Sagar of Kankarkheda police station and SOG in-charge Varun Sharma. The arrest came when the accused Shakib was on his way to Delhi with the abducted girl. The girl has been rescued by Shakib's possession. In the interrogation of the police, the accused Shakib confessed to holding the girl hostage on a brick kiln in Baghpat. According to media reports, Shakib has also raped the kidnapped girl. According to Kankarkheda police station in-charge, the teenager has been sent for medical examination.

The Hindu Jagran Manch and the family of the abducted teenager had staged a sit-in protest outside the Kankarkheda station on October 28 when the case was delayed. On reaching the SSP, an SIT was appointed for this matter, Inspector Kankarkheda Tapeshwar Sagar was appointed as the Nodal Officer and under his leadership, the accused was arrested and the kidnapped teenager was safely rescued.
