Lucknow: A 12-year-old boy has been rescued from the clutches of kidnappers after a week in Uttar Pradesh's Basti. Police teams of three police stations were pressed into service to nab the abductors. Now the police have arrested two kidnappers of Akhand. The arrested kidnappers have been identified as Suraj Singh and Aditya Singh. Both are brothers. Police said the kidnappers had confined the child to a three-room house in the Shivpuri colony of Sahajonwa. More than 13 serious injury marks were found on the child's body. The condition of the child remains extremely fragile due to being in the clutches of kidnappers for a week. He has been admitted to the hospital. The class 7 student was abducted by kidnappers on April 23. The case pertains to Rudhauli town under the Rudhauli police station area. The accused had kidnapped the child in broad daylight. Not only this, the accused had also implicated a shopkeeper. In fact, the accused had made a call from the phone of a shopkeeper to demand a ransom. The accused first asked for the phone at the shop and on the pretext of discharging the phone's battery. From his phone, the accused called Akhand's family and demanded Rs 50 lakh. The IG engaged police teams from Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar and Siddharth Nagar to find the child. After nearly a week of investigation, the police finally managed to nab the culprits. Both the accused have been arrested.
