Two accused in Meerut Professor murder case arrested from Delhi

Lucknow: Two absconding accused have been arrested in connection with the murder of a professor of Subharti University in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. The arrested assailants have told the police that Professor Sanjay was killed for revenge. All eight accused involved in the murder are college alumni. The arrested murderers have admitted in police interrogation that they along with colleagues killed Professor Sanjay with a brick in Meerut on 14 September.

The UP police has already arrested five of their associates. One of the accused is still absconding. According to the police, both the accused have been arrested by the Special Cell here on Thursday. Professor Sanjay Gautam was murdered while he was returning home on a bike. At the same time, the attackers surrounded and killed him near a cement warehouse on Baghpat Road. The attackers arrived on three motorcycles.

Police said on Friday that the arrested miscreants confessed in interrogation that they wanted to shoot the professor, but at the last time the weapon could not be shot, so the professor was crushed with bricks.
