The government has banned 6 types of allowances of state employees. It will be postponed till 31 March 2021. It also includes departmental allowance, secretariat allowance, police allowance.

The Yogi Adityanath government of UP has also banned dearness allowance. It was to be paid in April. This will save the state government 15 thousand crores. After cutting the salary of ministers and legislators by 30 percent, the UP government has stopped the increase in DA of state workers and teachers.
