Yogi govt to give 'double dose' of free ration to poor, 15 crore people to get benefits

Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government is going to give double doses of free ration to more than 15 crore ration card holders in Uttar Pradesh. For which ration distribution drive will be launched from December 12 and will continue till the next government is sworn in. In fact, the central government has also extended the free ration distribution drive under PMGKAY till March. This will benefit Antyodaya and eligible domestic ration cardholders.

Eligible cardholders in Uttar Pradesh will now be given a 10 kg free ration per month. The Central Government has extended the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana till March 2022. Ration cardholders will be given wheat and rice-free of cost twice per month. Pulses, edible oils, and salt will also be given free of cost. Through free ration distribution, the government is working on a plan to provide big support to the economically weaker poor, workers.

In view of the end of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, which began in the crisis of corona epidemic in November, CM Yogi announced free ration distribution till Holi by the state government in Ayodhya on November 3. Antyodaya ration cardholders and eligible families will be given a double ration from December. State that Uttar Pradesh has about 1,30,07,969 units under Antyodaya Anna Yojana and 13,41,77,983 units of eligible domestic cardholders.
