Uttarakhand government's big announcement: 'women will be recruited in fire brigade'

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Government has opened the entrance for jobs for women in the fire brigade. Till now there was no category for the appointment of women in the fire brigade. The Government has given an opportunity to recruit women by amending the Fire and Emergency Services Subordinate Officers Employee Service Rules. In this regard, notification of rules has also been issued by the government.

To prevent fire incidents in the state, only men are selected for the posts of firemen and firefighters in firefighting. Now the government has amended the rules to give women a chance to work in these posts as well. Fire and Emergency Services Subordinate Officers have been amended in the Staff Services Rules and the appointment of women has been announced. The age limit for women has been fixed at 21 to 25 years for the post of Fire Personnel and 21 to 28 years for the post of Fire Officer. Women have now got the power to stop the incidents of arson in the state.

426 posts of fire personnel vacant: Vacancy has been announced for many posts of Fireman, Fire Officer, and Fire Station Second Officer in the Fire Department in the state. In this, a total of 984 posts of firemen are approved. Only 558 posts are filled in it. While the vacancy for the 426 posts is vacant. In the 48 sanctioned posts of Fire Station Second Officer, 23 posts are vacant and all the vacancies in 35 sanctioned posts of Fire Officer are running.

After the implementation of the lockdown, the third and second employment fair of the year is going to be held today i.e. on Saturday in Dehradun. In the employment fair to be held at the Regional Employment Office, 6 different private companies are going to provide employment opportunities to the candidates. More than 150 candidates can also apply to participate in the fair. Regional Employment Officer Ajay Singh said that keeping in view the safety of the candidates during the coronary, the application was made mandatory to participate in the employment fair being held after the lockdown. This does not create unnecessary crowds in the fair where 6 private companies can give employment opportunities in the employment fair to be held on 27 February.
