New Delhi: Indian Railways is constantly working on passenger amenities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced that 75 cities in the country will be connected with the semi-high-speed train Vande Bharat by August 2023. So far, the Vande Bharat train has been started on five routes in the country. Now the Railways is preparing to start the Vande Bharat Express train on the new route. This will be the country's sixth Vande Bharat train and will run between Secunderabad (Telangana) and Jiyawada (Andhra Pradesh) railway stations. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnab had earlier spoken about operating the Vande Bharat train on this route. According to media reports, Vande Bharat, which runs between Secunderabad and Jiyawada, will be launched in the New Year. However, no decision has been taken on its date yet. The date will be announced by the railway officials after the completion of the upgradation of the track. It is also expected that Vande Bharat, which goes from Secunderabad to Jiyawada, will reach the destination via Kazipet Junction. With the launch of this train, Vande Bharat will be started on another route in South India. The first Vande Bharat in South India was launched between Chennai and Mysore in November. According to the report, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given the green signal for this route. Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Krishnan Reddy wants Prime Minister Narendra Modi to flag off the Secunderabad-Jiyawada train. Reddy is currently a Lok Sabha MP from Sikandrabad.
