Was there a temple or a mosque in Varanasi? Now excavation will reveal the truth

Varanasi: There will be an archaeological survey of the Gyanvapi mosque built in the Kashi Vishwanath campus of Varanasi in 12 Jyotirlinga of the country. The fast track court on Thursday has ordered an archaeological survey of the disputed premises in the matter related to the Kashi Vishwanath temple and the Gyanvapi mosque dispute. Advocate Vijay Shankar Rastogi has given information in this regard.

Advocate Rastogi, who filed a suit in the case, said that the Senior Division Fast Track (Civil Judge) Court, Varanasi has ordered the UP government to conduct the survey in this case at its own expense. He said that in this survey, five eminent archaeologists of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) have been instructed to include archaeologists from two minority communities. Rastogi said that in the year 2019, in the fast track court, he had applied on behalf of the self-proclaimed Lord Vishweshwar Kashi Vishwanath that the Gyanvapi Mosque is a part of the Vishveshwara Temple.

He said that the court has ordered an archaeological survey to be conducted on the premises considering his request. Civil Judge (Senior Division Fast Track) Ashutosh Tiwari on April 2 fixed the April 8 date for the verdict after hearing the pleas of both parties. Finally, after a long time, the court has approved the appeal (application form) of Vadmitra Vijay Shankar Rastogi for conducting an archaeological survey in the Gyanvapi case. The court has also constituted a five-member committee for this.
