CM Yogi’s visit to Varanasi, encounter between police and miscreants on the other side

Fed up with chain snatchers, the Varanasi Police Commissionerate has achieved great success today. Two miscreants who carried out chain snatching at gunpoint have been taken into custody after an encounter. The incident took place when Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself is scheduled to be present on a visit to Varanasi.

In fact, the Varanasi Police Commissionerate has been troubled by the chain snatcher gang these days. Incidents of chain snatching had become common. The worst affected areas were Lanka and Bhelupar police stations. These incidents of chain snatching were just like peswar criminals. They used to target women with guns. The police were looking for the new gang but could not succeed.

The two miscreants had once again turned out to carry out the crime when the police suspected the bike-borne miscreants by checking. The police raised their voices to stop them but they started firing at the police. The incident took place in Lotubir area of Lanka police station area where the duo started firing at the police team when they were stopped by the police. Both the miscreants were shot in the leg in the retaliatory firing. Both of them have been admitted to the hospital in an injured condition. Varanasi Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh said the two miscreants have been identified as Santosh and Pawan. Both are residents of Prayagraj. Where many incidents like chain snatching, looting are registered in police stations. These miscreants have now targeted Varanasi.
