London: The UK's capital is getting ready to celebrate King Charles III's coronation on May 6 with a number of events, including in Carnaby, London's hotspot for dining and fashion. For those celebrating the coronation, more than 25 dining options, including Syrian, Korean, and Indian cuisine, are available in the neighborhood's Kings Court. Prior to May 6, Carnaby Street will host a 3D Union Flag shimmer disc and an illuminated crown. Shops in Marylebone Village in the neighbourhood are providing special product choices to commemorate the occasion, including Union Jack chocolates, "King's Blue" English cheese, and zero-waste beverages honouring the monarch's promotion of environmentalism. Every British monarch in power since 1663 has paid a visit to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, one of London's most recognisable structures and the only theatre in the world still operating under a royal charter. The theatre is hosting tours, afternoon teas, and special performances in honour of the coronation. From April 19 to May 10, a series of afternoon teas will be held in the Grand Saloon, which has been restored and features chandeliers and a collection of fine art. To learn about the four centuries of history of the location, visitors can also participate in the theatre tours. In the meantime, Hummingbird Bakery, an American-themed establishment that is one of the capital's most well-liked spots for desserts and treats, is introducing a distinctive collection to commemorate the coronation.
