Srinagar: With the removal of Article 370 of the Constitution from Jammu and Kashmir, the central government reorganized the state. The full statehood of Jammu and Kashmir was abolished and it was made a Union Territory. Now the political stir has started in the same Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir regarding the assembly elections. The delimitation work has been completed, while now the Election Commission has also become active regarding the elections in the state. Amid the activism of the Election Commission, now the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir are also seen to be active. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the state's main political party Dr Farooq Abdullah's National Conference made a big announcement regarding the assembly elections. The National Conference (NC) has announced that the party will field candidates in all the 90 seats of the Union Territory in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. With this announcement of the NC, the dissolution of the Gupkar Alliance is considered certain. The National Conference was the main constituent of the Gupkar, a group of five parties.
