Viral Video: 'Will drag you from your houses, thrash you like dogs' Bharati Ghosh warns TMC men

Ghatal: BJP Lok Sabha candidate from West Bengal on Saturday said that rival Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters that would be "dragged out of their houses" and "thrashed like dogs" if they threaten voters. The video of the incident is going viral on the internet.

Former IPS officer Ghosh made the controversial statement while campaigning at Ghatal constituency.  However, she later had a fallout with the CM. She resigned from the police force in 2017 and subsequently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). 

The incident took place at Anandapur village in Ghatal, where Ghosh was campaigning on Saturday, when a few people complained to her that some of the TMC supporters were warning them to not cast their votes on May 12, the sixth phase of polling.  Referring to the alleged Trinamool supporters, Ghosh told the voters, “If they try to frighten anyone, we will pull them out of their houses and thrash them like dogs. I will get a thousand boys from Uttar Pradesh and deploy them here and then you won't be found.”

Meanwhile, TMC Chief and West Bengal CM  Minister Banerjee, lashed out Ghosh for her remarks. She said, "“Please don’t force me to open my mouth. We have let you contest. You are saying wrong things against people…Do not cross the limit. There should be a basic courtesy."
