On Thursday evening, India was shaken to the core as terrorist activity in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir martyred at least 44 CRPF jawans while numerous others were left injured. In what was one of the most deadly attacks in recent history, sportsmen including Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Mohammad Kaif were among those who expressed grief over the tragedy on social media. Meanwhile, the captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli, was criticised for putting a promotional tweet which was considered as 'ill-timed' by fans. On Thursday evening, The attack was carried out using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (known as VBIED) which targeted a CRPF bus. The vehicle carrying explosives over 100 kg rammed into the bus which was a part of the 70-vehicle convoy, killing at least 37 (as confirmed by the CRPF). The calls of immediate actions against the culprits took over social media as India demanded justice for those who were martyred in the cowardly act of terrorism. Gambhir, who once again voiced his anger in the strongest of manners, urged for a 'talk' with Pakistan in the battlefield. Gambhir had tweeted “Yes, let’s talk with the separatists. Yes, let’s talk with Pakistan. But this time conversation can’t be on the table, it has to be in a battleground. Enough is enough. 18 CRPF personnel killed in IED blast on Srinagar-Jammu highway,”. While something similar was expected from Kohli, the 30-year-old posted a couple of tweets about the Indian Sports Honours while the nation was mourning the loss of those CRPF jawans. Realising his mistake, the skipper deleted the posts but that couldn't help him from being targeted by fans on the micro-blogging website. also read Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) released a video on Pulwama terror attack, threatened for more attacks
