On Tuesday, the Tihar Jail has announced the launch of vocational training sessions for its young inmates, sessions include bee keeping, detergent and soap making, and handmade paper Conversion. As per the DG (Prisons) Sudhir Yadav, "Today, we have inaugurated a vocation training module at Central Jail no 5, which houses young inmates in the age group of 18 to 21 years," Yadav further added, "There is a lot of potential and abundant energy among inmates. We are confident that after training, they would not only get suitably employed themselves but could also be providing employment to other inmates." He said, "The initiative has been taken with a view to stimulate young inmates with innovative ideas of vocational skills, to make them economically independent once they are released from prison."
