Voice issues will also be considered call drop, Tele companies will be fined Rs 5 lakh

If you are too tired of frequent phone calls, noise, or intermittent noise, then there is great news for you. Regarding this, the government has taken stringent measures against telecom companies. TRAI has said that if the voice is stopped while talking on the phone or the voice is not coming, then it will also be considered as a call drop and if convicted, then a penalty of up to Rs 5 lakh will also be imposed on telecom companies. The new rule for call drop will start from October 1, 2018.

Determining the new definition of call drop, TRAI said that if there are issues while talking, it will not be considered a call drop, the voice problem will also come within the scope of the weak network and also call drop.

Actually, sources say that telecom companies often refuse to call the network and call off the call drop, but TRAI will not let it happen anymore. Any problem that comes from talking on the phone will now be considered a call drop. After this, everyday call drop will be accounted for and if there is more than 2 per cent of the call drop in the month, then the telecom companies will be fined more than Rs 5 lakh.

It is noteworthy that TRAI had earlier said that the telecom companies have to solve the complaints of various levels including call drops, bills and networks within one month to resolve the complaints. On not settling complaints in the prescribed time, the companies have to explain the reason in writing before the Department of Telecommunications.

In view of which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given instructions to the Telecom Ministry in connection with the speedy settlement of complaints, the direction of this ministry has come out. At present, companies take time for two to six months to resolve the complaints and at times they spend even more time.
