Voting for the Vice-Presidential election is scheduled to take place today

The elections for the post of  Vice-Presidential is scheduled to take place today. The candidates who are going to contest for the post are Former union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu and former West Bengal governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi.

The Vice-President Hamid Ansari term of the incumbent will come to an end on August 10. It is said that the voting will conclude till 5 p.m and the counting of votes will start at 7 p.m. and the result will be declared by the evening.

The Vice- President is selected through a secret ballot by the members of the Electoral College consisting of the members of both Houses of Parliament.
