VV Giri was born on 10 August 1894 in Brahmapur, Odisha. VV Giri's father's name is V.V. There was Jogiah Pantulu, a lawyer and an active member of the Indian National Congress. VV Giri was a lawyer and a local bar council leader. VV Giri ji's schooling took place in Berhampur. In 1913 he went to Ireland for advocacy education, completed his education from Dublin University from 1913-16. Let us tell you that he met Bhet de Valera, a popular British rebel, and influenced by him he joined the 'Sin Fein Movement' for the independence of Ireland and contributed. He was thrown out of Ireland as a punishment. In this freedom movement, he met great freedom fighters like Eamon de Valera, Michael Collins, Desmond, James Connally, etc., whom he became closely associated with. Impressed and opinionated, he returned to the country in 1916. Apart from this, after returning to the country in 1916, he joined the Madras High Court. With this, he became a member of the Congress party. If we talk about political career, VV Giri was also the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Mysore and Kerala. In 1967, when Dr. Zakir Hussain was President, VV Giri was made the Vice-President. After the premature death of Dr. Zakir Hussain on 3 May 1969, VV Giri ji was made President to fill the vacant post. 6 months later, in 1969, when the Presidential elections were held, VV Giri was again appointed to the post of President by Indira Gandhi.
