Tv actress Ankita Lokhande is all set to make her Bollywood debut alongside Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi. In the film, Ankita will be playing the role of Jhalkaribai, Rani Laxmibai's close aide who helped her fight against the British rule. Recently at an event when Ankita was asked about Kangana, she stated, "She’s a professional on the sets. And you can only see Rani Laxmibai on the sets." Ankita further said, "Kangana is the hero of the film, and she’s launching me as the heroine of this film. I’m assuming I’m the heroine now! It’s not tough to launch someone, but it’s important to give the right platform, which I’ve got. I’m playing the role of Jhalkaribai in the film, and it’s a fabulous part. I’m working very hard for my role." Ankita's character is important in the film as Jhalkari Bai was the one who used to disguise and shield Rani Laxmi Bai. Her uncanny resemblance to Rani Laxmibai helped her go in disguise and protect her Queen whenever required. Talking about her role, Ankita Lokhande stated, "I'd never heard of her before, not many have, but Jhalkaribai was one of the greatest heroes of our proud history. I'm honoured that I'll be telling her story to the world, fighting alongside Kangana's Rani Laxmibai." To prepare for the role, Ankita took horse-riding lessons. According to reports, Kangana and Ankita have already shot for some scenes together. From the past few months, Ankita has been taking training in sword-fighting and is making sure to get into the skin of her character perfectly.
