Lucknow: The centenary year celebrations are being held these days to mark 100 years of the establishment of Wajid Ali Shah zoological park in the capital. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has joined as the chief guest on Monday. On the occasion, CM Yogi released a postage stamp issued with a book called Zoo in centenary souvenirs and paintings of Lucknow Zoological Park. It has also named tigers and leopard cubs. Not only that, but the winners of various competitions held during the centenary year have also honoured the former administrators and directors of Lucknow Zoo. Chief Minister Yogi congratulated everyone and further expressed his sincerity about working in the area. New park to be built in Gorakhpur: Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi named Sher shah, Simba and female cub Sakshi of the male cubs of Tiger. On the other hand, the male leopard cub has been named Tejas and the female is Bhavani. CM Yogi has since greeted everyone on the completion of 100 years of Lucknow Zoological Park. He has said that it is a matter of pride for all of us and the hard work of every single person is clearly visible in it. He said that it was because of everyone's tireless efforts that these centenary celebrations have been organized with such fanfare today. Responsibility of every person: On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi has said that it is the responsibility of all of us to protect animals and the environment. Man's behaviour towards living beings is also his basic behaviour. With progress, everyone should take responsibility for the conservation of all animals and the environment. Taking a dig at previous governments, he has said that in the last 70 years, only 2 zoos have been built. Our government is constantly working in this direction and a new zoological park will be built in Gorakhpur soon. He also said that in the last 5 years, the forest department has planted 100 crore saplings.
