Walmart to challenges Amazon in India with video streaming service

Walmart is all set to launch a free video streaming service to challenge Amazon Prime Video. Flipkart Plus users will benefit from this. Flipkart, India's largest online retailer, is likely to launch the service under the Loyalty program for Flipkart Plus users before Diwali. According to media reports, the service can be launched in September. Currently, testing is in the beta mode of this service. 

Flipkart is also going to step into the sector just like other video streaming companies. Flipkart Plus's streaming service may challenge us to Amazon in the Indian market. According to media reports, Flipkart will not initially bring originals like other online video streaming platforms but can provide video content for users in association with Balaji of Walt Disney and other local companies.

For your information, Flipkart's video streaming platform will not be like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix. The company can provide its users with video streaming for free under the Loyalty Program. Flipkart launched its Loyalty Reward Plan last year. In addition to Flipkart Plus, Amazon Prime subscriptions are available at a monthly rate of Rs 999 per annum and Rs 129. Flipkart's video streaming platform may challenge it.
